Thoughts on Shit I Like

OK, I have intentions of ranting on subjects such as pop culture, the economy, politics, and sports. Before I do any of this you should know that I am a bias ass hole. I am a Republican, Tennis, Cleveland Sports, and Michigan Wolverines fan through and through. Find a new blog if your not cool with that. With that being said, I am going to start my blogging adventure by talking about those things that I am most passionate about.

First of all, The Michigan Wolverines.

Football: What the hell? As a fan I have a million excuses for all the lame OSU fans living in my area as to why they are so bad, however, none of them are valid enough to make it to this blog. They are bad, and with rumors of potential transfers away from Michigan and a not so promising recruiting class, next year doesn't seam as if it should be looked forward to all that much either.

Basketball: So far so good, two big wins over no. 4 teams and a good record. However, the Big Ten is tough, I look for Michigan to take it's knocks but squeak into the NCAA tourney because of a decent record and a few notable wins.

On to the Cleveland Sports, could the Cavaliers be better? Could the Browns have been worse? What does next season have in store for the Indians? Well, your guess is as good as mine, but here goes mine.

First, I'll speculate on the upcoming season of the Cleveland Indians. The Indians came into the 2008 season coming off a ALCS appearance with the defending Cy Young Award winner on the roster. Promising. Well that was a flop, with CC's contract coming to an end he was traded away for some garbage and the season was trashed. Even still, the Cleveland starting pitching is arguably the best in the A.L. with Cy Young winner Cliff Lee and and young gun Carmona. The relief pitching appears to be decent.
Bringing in veteran pitcher Kerry Wood to fill the closer role could be the biggest move in the off season thus far. Bringing in DeRosa from the Cubs to fill Casey Blake's shoes at third base could also prove to be an improvement to the lineup.
So, with all of that said I look for the Indians to make up playoff push this season. The AL Central is decent at best and no teams seamed to improve to much. We will see, there are still major question marks like, will Travis Hafner return to his form of three seasons ago?

The Cleveland Cavaliers are tough. At this point in the season they have the only undefeated record at home in the NBA. Unfortunately, the Celtics are good...very good. A return visit to the finals for the Cavs could very well come down to home court advantage in the seemingly inevitable battle in the Eastern Conference championship. The next month will be a great test with Z out with a broken bone in his ankle.

The Cleveland Browns are bad as my Michigan Wolverines. OUCH. The difference is, the Browns actually have some talent on the roster. Hopefully the 2009 Browns will look more like the 10 and 6 2007 browns. A healthy Brady Quinn and a coaching change could prove to help that happen. But....the AFC is good, the young (pass dropping) Cleveland Browns will not make the playoffs in 2009, but maybe they can at least score some TD's.

Well that's that. So, are we heading towards socialism? Would that be a bad thing? The answer to both of those questions is yes. People, don't panic, we do not need the government to step and run our lives. Panic once caused a really rough time....black Tuesday ring a bell? I won't touch to much on this till I see what Obama does next. I'm sure he'll give me plenty of things in the coming years to rant about.

Fausey's super bowl pick....The Indianapolis Colts. NFL MVP Payton Manning will lead the season ending 9 and 0 Colts to their second super bowl victory in three years. Let's see an all Manning Superbowl...sounds exciting eh?

Choke of the season...The Dallas Cowboys. Alot of talent on that team, and I'm definitely not talking about Tony Romo (The most overrated quarterback EVER!)

That's all, maybe I'll have more soon.
