I realize that it's only the 24th of January but I can see spring coming. The Australian Open is in full swing, I'm back to tennis practice, I have spring break plans finalized.....all very exciting. As far as the Australian open goes...people are picking Andy Murray? This guy hasn't won one before, why would it be this one with Federer playing like he has something to prove, Nadal never making errors, and two Americans (Roddick and Blake) playing well with favorable draws. I realize the Americans will choke and get blown out by some someone you have never heard of, but still. Back to me....you haven't heard much from me as I have had conditioning every morning at 6. This would be fine but there is something in me that doesn't let me sleep until well after midnight. So my day outside of class and work consists of naps. So feel privileged to be hearing from me.
Well the Superbowl is coming up. People tell me that, that is important. The Cardinals? Who gives a shit. And there is no team I hate more the the Steelers. Unfortunately the Steelers look good and they are my pick. (read previous blogs and realize my picks have dropped like flies....suck it Pittsburgh, you got the Fausey jynx).
With my brain functioning slow, give me some comments. I would love to rant about something you care about. If you are looking for a wonderful game to kill hours on end check out www.duelboard.com/login and play rook(raven). Great card game for anyone who enjoys euchre or hearts. Good Day.

Lebron is human!
In the forth and final contest of the year between the Cavs and Bulls the edge went to Chicago in the Cavs first OT game of the year. Lebron did a great job of missing everything from jump shot to lay-ups(including a last second potential game winner). This performance scared me a bit...but it's Lebron, he'll be ok...right? I am going to see the Cavs take on the Pistons next month. Sorry to any Cavs fans that are reading but I can almost guarantee the first home Cavs loss will be that day. I visit Cleveland at least 15 times a year for Cavs, Browns, and Tribe games....it normally doesn't end well. Many would say "that's because those are bad teams." And to those people I would have to say touche. But I still have faith.
note: my blogs are getting progressivly shorter and worse....my bad, I'm tired.

....
Well this week I head back to school for another semester of bull shit. So this could mean less frequent posts, I am very sorry to my 1 to 3 loyal readers.
Last nite I had a work x-mas party(late I know). There was a gift exchange, which blows. They normally force me to spend 20 bucks that I don't have on a great gift. And what do I receive, normally a t-shirt that doesn't fit. This year however, a friend had my name and got me Dave Matthews Band Live at Mile High Music Festival. Kick ass, I'm listening to that now, so good.
So, while I'm in a good mood....how bout dem Cavs beatin the shit out of Boston the other nite? Did anyone read my power rankings? Did I not predict Boston to have a rough go at it? Sweet I know.
And finally to anyone reading that is living in Northwest Ohio, come out to Defiance College and catch a tennis match, we have a prmising team and you'll get to see me.

Play Ball
I need to talk about baseball. I realize that many people could frankly give two shits about baseball this time of year, but there is to much going on in my mind right now about the American League for me to not talk about!
I'll try to limit the Cleveland Indians talk, but no promises.
Let's start with the Yankees. I have several friends who ask will the 2009 Yankees really be that much improved? Fuck yes they will, everyone that mattered at all in that line up is back. Anyone lost is very easily replaceable and they signed a couple of guys. Did they not hear about that? And, in my opinion, CC is the off season acquisition that pays off big. This is a young superstar that a team can ride for an almost guaranteed 20 wins, especially with the run support he should get. And we are all left wondering, o why o why did he have to become a Yankee? Money. The Yankees got it, athletes like it, pretty easy concept. Let's face it, we need a salary cap but it just doesn't seem to be possible. You can't tell teams like the Yankees to cut half of there team, that's just not fair.
With all that being said, the flash in the pan Rays will drop off and the Yankees will return as A.L. East champions. As far as the West goes, who the hell knows. No teams have greatly improved in my eyes so I guess the Angles win it. I'm a big Vlad fan.
And finally the A.L. Central. Well, it's a bad division but as an Indians fan I know WAY to much about it. Much more than any division in baseball. Here is what I will say, watch out for the Royals. Seriously. They had good pitching all year last year, they just couldn't score. Any team with good pitching is going to win games, especially in a bad division. The Tigers are another year older and that much worse. Last year was a disappointment and I don't look for this one to be much different. I will say, the Tigers can score some runs and play some defense (especially at the CF position). Curtis Granderson is fun to watch play, he plays all out and hes good, if it wasn't for Grady he would look even better. I look for the Twins and WhiteSox to have seasons very similar to last years. And now....I've held off as long as I can, The Cleveland Indians. Carl Pavano.... come on tribe. They already signed Kerry Wood, I guess they are hell bent on signing pitchers to get injured and litter the DL so they have a plethora of excuses. Nevertheless, I've said it before and I really believe it, The Cleveland Indians will make a real push to win this division. It really may come down to whether or not Martinez and Hafner are healthy and swinging the bat all year. How odd, the Indians and the Royals. Am I a genius? Or do I eat paint chips? Time will tell....But, I am excited, football season has been over for a long time for me and basketball leaves a bit of a void for me, so i guess it's baseball season. Right?
The National League is a cluster fuck. I know next to nothing about the teams and my predictions would be stabs in the dark. I do my research on the NL once the playoffs start or a few teams start to look dominant. I will say this, go Cubs! I have a trip to Chicago to to visit Wrigley this summer and I'd like to enjoy the game with happy Cubs fans.

Go Bucks!...go home with your tail between your legs that is
I will admit it, I spent last night at a bar with several buckeye fans cheering the Ohio State Fuckeyes to victory. I'm as tired as every other Big Ten fan of those pussy's performing in bowl games as well as Greg Oden does in the NBA. If there is one thing the BigTen fans have, it is excuses. Who comes up with that shit!? They are just bad, their dominance is over and they are still getting AP votes for beating up on other shitty BigTen teams? quick q and a:
q: What big ten team did not lose a bowl game besides Iowa?
a. Michigan, that's right fuckers, we got all of our embarrassment out of the way in the regular season.
OK, lets hear all your sharp Toledo jokes genius Buckeye fans.
Enough on that game, lets talk some NFL playoffs. So far I have predicted two teams to win the Superbowl...neither of them made it out of last weekend. SO....with my third pick I sellect....nope, not gunna do it. Lets just pray those shit bag Steelers get beat. There is a decent chance of that with hazy big Ben wizzin that ball around out there. In an earlier blog I referred to Tony Romo being the most over rated QB in the league, big "pussy" ben is not to far behind. O, and speaking up pussys, Beanie Wells WOW. Grow a pair! Your good but if I'm an NFL GM I'm not taking you until third round. OK...Now I'm done with the buckeyes.
The Cavaliers lost to the Wizards the other night. That bothers me, time for another win streak to get started. The spark? Daniel Gibson bobble head night Wednesday against the Bobcats. How do you fire up a team? A loud crowd, duh. And what fires up a crowd more that a piece of shit dust collector of one of the leagues best role players. Woo-Hoo!

NBA Power Rankings/Playoff Preview
Overall record will be taken into account in my power rankings, but not a whole lot. Teams with current win streaks and promise in the future will grab the top spots. How credible are these rankings u ask...not very. There are to many good teams. The pathetic Indiana Pacers have wins over two of the top teams in the league (Lakers and Celtics), it took a West powerhouse, the Nuggets, a buzzer beater by Anthony to beat the NBA worst Thunder. Teams like the Spurs are not considered to be an NBA elite team this year (but they will soon)....but face it, they can spank anyone when they are hot and healthy. Well, here is my top 10. You got a better one?
1. The Cleveland Cavaliers- Undefeated at home and firing on all cylinders, they'll stay up top until I see them lose one at home. I know they lost a tough one today to the Wizards....but fuck it I'm bias.
2. The Los Angeles Lakers- With a Christmas win over the defending champs Celtics the LA Lakers are legit. This is a team, not just the Kobe show this year. Unless someone else in the west steps up and gets several key wins like they have, then I have a hard time seeing anyone from the west being better than LA in my eyes.
3. The Boston Celtics- This is a good team, but I had a hard time putting them all the way up at 3. The Celtics are good, but at times look old. There is a lot of season left to be played and this team is one injury away from falling apart. Plus do they still have that fire in their belly? It takes alot of grit to work all the way through the playoffs and the Cavs or one of the several young and tough teams in the East seam more likely to do it. But for now, they are 3.
4. The Denver Nuggets- This team is greatly improved with over rated ball hog A.I. off the team. Billups is a fit, the Nuggets look tough, and Anthony has matured enough in my eyes to lead a team on a deep playoff run.
5. The San Antonio Spurs- They can beat anyone, they are healthy, and well.....the last few seasons has shown they are a pretty good playoff team.
6. The Orlando Magic-The Magic are a decent team that is playing out of their ass this season, they'll sail to the playoffs but don't expect them to do to much.
7. The Atlanta Hawks- Joe Johnson is the man, this is a hungry young team with alot of potential this year.
8. The New Orleans Hornets- They are not playing as good as they are. Chris Paul is the best point guard in the NBA hands down. They'll come around and challenge whoever they match up with in the playoffs.
9. The Detroit Pistons-This teams lacks and identity and many people believe they are washed up. However, let's not forget how well they have done in the playoffs in the last several years. Look for them to make a strong push to try to quite some critics.
10. The Houston Rockets-This team has one of the best looking rosters in the NBA. If the Rockets can get just a few of them to get hot, watch out for the Rockets.
With my top 10 now mentioned I will say that the conference finals will consist of my top four teams. The West has several potential prediction busters for me, but to see an East Final without the Cavs and Celtics would be a shock to me and probaly most all of you also.

Drunk Blogging
My previous post (Oops) was drafted at 2:30 in the morning after hours of drinking beer and cursing as the Indianapolis Colts were defeated. Not to bad though. So, check the blog early in the morning on the weekends and ya just might catch some all to true feelings before I have the opportunity to delete them.
Also, a friend recently showed me this blog www.gmoneysack.blogspot.com It's written by a guy from the same shit hole town as me that is just as bias and possibly as big of a dick as I am. Difference is, he has some legitimate writing skills and quite a bit more knowledge about the overall national sports scene.
Come back soon, tonite I'll give my NBA top 10 power rankings and take a look at what the playoffs would look like if the season ended today.
